Mission

The Florida Keys History of Diving Museum, Inc. is an independent, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. The Museum tells the largely untold story of Man's Quest to Explore Under the Sea through its exhibits of authentic diving apparatus relative to the International History of Diving.

History

The Museum was founded in 2000 by Drs. Joe & Sally Bauer, who spent more than four decades amassing the world’s largest collection of diving artifacts and researching diving history. The Museum opened part time in Sept. 2005. New exhibits were continually being installed and in Sept. 2006, the Museum began opening seven days a week, offering a monthly evening lecture series, off-site lectures and mini-exhibits, in adition to 3,000 square feet of exhibits in the Musuem itself.
