Museum professionally exhibiting the history of southwestern Dane County, Wisconsin from pre-settlement to present.

Mission

Preserving and interpreting the history of southwestern Dane County through educational programing and exhibits.

History

Established and incorporated with the Wisconsin Historical Society in 1975.

Artifacts Collections

More than 20,000 artifacts pertaining to the experiences of southwestern Dane County, Wisconsin from pre-settlement to present day.

  • Emphasis on folk culture, arts / artists, agriculture / business and material culture.
  • More than 4000 textile and related objects

Research Collections

Extensive archival holdings including 25,000 photographs, maps, cemetery,township, and school records,papers of area politicians,business people & everyday families, store catalogs, published and unpublished works.
