Established in 1931, the Museum's exceptional permanent exhibits focus on local and regional history, Native American art and artifacts, modern, contemporary and Western art. Enjoy the McAdoo Collection of Taos Ten paintings, the Heinemann Collection of Peruvian antiquities, the Pueblo pottery collection and explore galleries of local and regional history displays, plus outstanding changing exhibitions. Envision new worlds of art, history and culture! The History Gallery features an exhibit of photographs and artifacts dedicated to the 200th and 515th Coast Artillery of the New Mexico National Guard. Called to active service in the Philippines in World War II, these men from Eddy County were captured by the Japanese in 1942 and forced to endure the Bataan Death March.

El Rancho de las Golondrinas is a living history museum located on 200 acres in a rural farming valley just south of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The Museum, dedicated to the history, heritage and culture of 18th and 19th century New Mexico, opened in 1972. Original colonial buildings on the site date from the early 1700s. In addition, historic buildings from other parts of northern New Mexico have been reconstructed at Las Golondrinas. Villagers clothed in the styles of the times show how life was lived on the frontier in early New Mexico. Special festivals and weekend events offer visitors an in-depth look into the celebrations, music, dance and many other aspects of life in the Spanish, Mexican and Territorial periods of the Southwest.

Situated on the corner of Main Street and Luna Avenue(Under the water tower, The Los Lunas museum of Heritage and Arts is housed in a historic building that has had a variety of tenants over the years. The museum was founded in 2008 as a special collections branch of the Los Lunas Public Library.

The Museum of International Folk Art houses the largest collection of international folk art in the world. Permanent exhibitions include Familia y Fe, an exhibition highlighting Spanish Colonial arts from Colonial to contemporary times; and Multiple Visions: A Common Bond, with folk art, toys and miniatures from more than 100 countries displayed by designer and collector/donor, Alexander Girard. Public programs include lectures, films, artist demonstrations, all age hands-on activities and workshops, and panel discussions.
