The new Musical Instrument Museum (MIM), the first truly global museum of its kind, broke ground on February 6, 2008 for its 190,000-square-foot facility on 20 acres of land on the north side of Phoenix, Arizona. Offices during the building of the museum are located in Tempe, Arizona and Minneapolis, Minnesota. Scheduled to open in 2010, this new museum will celebrate the universal language of music by exhibiting instruments from every country in the world

Planes of Fame Air Museum, Arizona

As more and more aircraft were restored and the Planes of Fame collection grew, an additional display facility was opened in Valle, Arizona in 1995. Located halfway between Williams, Arizona and the south rim of the Grand Canyon, this facility houses over 40 of the Museum’s aircraft, many of which are also flyable.

Smoki Museum of American Indian Art and Culture

The Smoki Museum, constructed in 1935 with WPA and CCC funds was built to resemble a Hopi Pueblo structure. Our 5,000 square foot gallery houses a collection of artifacts, baskets, pottery and lithics from many Southwestern tribes. We also feature the largest collection of Kate Cory paintings in the USA.

The main exhibition, Tempe: Distinct, Diverse, Dynamic, dramatically presents the story of Tempe through a variety of media. The exhibition explores the history of Tempe through four thematic areas—College Town, Building Our Community, Living Together and Surviving in the Desert. World's Smallest Museum

World's Smallest Museum, one of Arizona's finest roadside attractions in Superior on historic US 60, showcases "artifacts of ordinary life," and by doing so, honors the world's extra-ordinary workforce! From a large iron kettle filled with ancient bits and pieces of pottery to the computer on display, a true memorium is subtly woven in one's mind that honors common people.

There are two museums at Fort Huachuca housed in three separate buildings. All are within just a short walk from one another. The Fort Huachuca Museum takes up two buildings, its main museum (Bldg. 41401) and a spillover gallery called the Museum Annex (41305). It tells the story of the U.S. Army in the American Southwest. The second museum is the U.S. Army Intelligence Museum which takes for its theme the evolution of the intelligence art within the U.S. Army. It is in building 41411, just down the street from the Fort Huachuca Museum and its Annex.

Yuma Proving Ground Heritage Center

The Yuma Proving Ground Heritage Center and Museum depicts the history of Yuma Proving Ground. The Museum tells the history chronologically from 1942 to 9-11. As the visitor goes through the museum they will begin with the Desert Training Center moving on to the Yuma Test Branch, Camp Seeley, the Yuma Test Station, and Yuma Proving Ground. Across from the Yuma Test Station is a room which tells the history of the Liberation of the Concentration Camps, and the American Army Units that liberated those camps. The Tests of the 50's and 60's is located at the end of the center hallway. Down the hall from the 50's and 60's is a room on Munitions,the room is in Tribute to the Victims of 9-11.
