The Bremerton Historic Ships Association was created in 1988 as a non-profit organization to acquire vessels, operate programs, and activities for educational, historic, and memorial purposes. The vision of a naval heritage vessel on the Bremerton Waterfront became a reality when the USS TURNER JOY was located here in 1991.

Flying Heritage Collection

The Flying Heritage Collection showcases the spectacular warbirds and technologies from 1935-1945, with exhibits that shine a light on the humanity at the homefronts of the warring nations. Set a midst a restored working hangar, visitors of all ages can get up close and personal to these treasures of the sky, and learn how innovators and innovations of the past led the way to modern aviation and aerospace technologies.

Henderson House Museum

As of October 1, 2011, the Henderson House is closed to the public for tours and services. The closure is slated for an undermined amount of time. During the closure, the City will take steps to create a furnished period home of the early 20th century within the Henderson House.

Jundt Art Museum, Gonzaga University

The Jundt Art Museum includes the Jundt Galleries, a 2,800 square-foot gallery that can be divided into several exhibition spaces; the Arcade Gallery, a 1,288 square-foot lobby for exhibitions, and the Chancellor's Room, a 1,450 square-foot exhibition lounge. The Museum also includes a print study room for Gonzaga's print collection.

Join us in a walk through the evolving landscapes of the Sequim Dungeness Valley. See glaciers soils, the Manis Mastodon Exhibit, first nation artwork, maritime exhibit, artifacts of agriculture and dairy farms, the Victorian Cowan Room Exhibit, Veteran's Exhibit, as well as the rotating Art Exhibits and the Museum Store. Then continue on to Dungeness School, a Washington State Historical Site, to see the cir. 1900 School Exhibit. Annual events include the delightful Victorian Tea, Holiday Bazaar, Annual Doll, Dollhouse, and Miniature Show & Sale, and the Melodrama held on Lavender Festival weekend. The School is available for event rental. On your return to Sequim, five miles south, see the Captain Morris Home, and Washington Harbor School Site that have yet to be restored.

New Dungeness Lighthouse

The New Dungeness Lighthouse was the first lighthouse completed in Washington Territory. It has operated continuously providing navigational aids to ships plying the waters of the Strait of Juan de Fuca since its lard oil lamp was lit for the first time on 14 December 1857. Originally, there were two full-time Keepers who lived in the Lighthouse. In 1904 a dwelling for the Officer-in-Charge was constructed east of the Lighthouse. Today this dwelling is known as the Keeper's Quarters

A single room of interesting artifacts, displayed at the Chewelah Fun Fair in the summer of 1965 was the beginning of the present spacious museum. The exhibit drew so much interest it was decided to add to it the following year and the idea mushroomed. Walt Goodman and his niece, Dorothy, both interested in local history and historical artifacts, they pooled their ideas to create what became the present museum. From the modest one room start, the building was soon filled with many local items of interest. The people of Chewelah and surrounding areas were cooperative and generous. Many have given valuable family collections to provide interesting and unique items to the display for the public to enjoy. Each year the museum grows.
