Amerind Foundation Museum
Dragoon, Arizona

Amerind Museum exhibitions tell the story of America's first peoples from Alaska to South America and from the last Ice Age to the present. Amerind's Fulton-Hayden Memorial Art Gallery features works on western themes by such artists as Harrison Begay, Carl Oscar Borg, William Leigh, Frederic Remington, and Andy Tsihnahjinnie. The museum store offers southwestern arts, crafts, and books on prehistory, history, and Native American cultures. The museum and art gallery are housed in Spanish Colonial Revival style buildings designed by noted Tucson architect Merritt Starkweather.
The Amerind experience is more than art and artifacts. On Native Arts weekends, Amerind visitors will find Indian artists demonstrating their skills in the museum's main gallery.

Fort Huachuca Museum

There are two museums at Fort Huachuca housed in three separate buildings. All are within just a short walk from one another. The Fort Huachuca Museum takes up two buildings, its main museum (Bldg. 41401) and a spillover gallery called the Museum Annex (41305). It tells the story of the U.S. Army in the American Southwest. The second museum is the U.S. Army Intelligence Museum which takes for its theme the evolution of the intelligence art within the U.S. Army. It is in building 41411, just down the street from the Fort Huachuca Museum and its Annex.

Navajo Nation Museum

The Navajo Nation Museum has extensive holdings of art, ethnographic, archaeological, and archival materials. Our archives collection includes over 40,000 photographs as well as a wide variety of documents, recordings, motion picture film, and videos. The archives are heavily used by authors, researchers, and publishers as a source for historical photographs.

We collect anything that helps document the culture and history of the Navajo people, including selected materials from Tribal and non-Indian neighbors. Most of the collections are available for on-site study and exhibit loan.

The museum maintains a very active and professional exhibition program, most of which is produced in-house.

Planes of Fame Air Museum, Arizona

As more and more aircraft were restored and the Planes of Fame collection grew, an additional display facility was opened in Valle, Arizona in 1995. Located halfway between Williams, Arizona and the south rim of the Grand Canyon, this facility houses over 40 of the Museum’s aircraft, many of which are also flyable.

Sharlot Hall Museum is an educational and cultural center, which fosters public and community understanding and appreciation of historical, social, and natural aspects of Arizona, with emphasis on the Central Highlands, and which promotes involvement in and support for research, collections, conservation, exhibits, and related programs.

Telephone Pioneer Museum

Interactive displays trace the history of telecommunications in Arizona from the 1870s to the present day. Features changing exhibits including photographs, hand tools, switchboards, coin phones, directory, telegraph, teletype, and bell system memorabilia.

Tohono O'odham Nation Cultural Center & Museum

Exhibitions change regularly and include our collection holdings as well as loans from other museums; pertinent traveling exhibitions from other museums are also featured frequently.

Center for Creative Photography

The Center for Creative Photography is a research institution with a robust program of exhibitions and public lectures. It is the largest institution in the world devoted to documenting the history of North American photography. At the heart of the Center are the archives of over 200 photographers, scholars, galleries, and organizations, comprised of 4.5 million items, complemented by an unparalleled collection of over 90,000 fine prints. These collections continue to dynamically grow through gift and purchase, and we continue to promote them at our website.

Phippen Museum

The Phippen Museum's permanent collection consists of paintings, etchings, drawings, bronze sculptures, photography, American Indian artifacts and jewelry that date from the late 19th century to the early 21st century. All materials in the collection are created by artists of the American West.

Rosson House Museum

We offer the Rosson House as a glimpse of a specific moment in time. When in the house we want the visitor to feel like the family is just out of view. The room exhibits are set in a living history format with costumed interpreters leading the tours.

Smoki Museum of American Indian Art and Culture

The Smoki Museum, constructed in 1935 with WPA and CCC funds was built to resemble a Hopi Pueblo structure. Our 5,000 square foot gallery houses a collection of artifacts, baskets, pottery and lithics from many Southwestern tribes. We also feature the largest collection of Kate Cory paintings in the USA.

Tempe History Museum

The Tempe History Museum is a community history museum that brings people together to celebrate Tempe's past and ponder its future. The main exhibition, Tempe: Distinct, Diverse, Dynamic, dramatically presents the story of Tempe through a variety of media. The exhibition explores the history of Tempe through four thematic areas—College Town, Building Our Community, Living Together and Surviving in the Desert. New technology and hands-on activities in the Kids’ Place gallery provide oppor-tunities for families to learn together.
