We have an archival area in which we preserve the original documents and utilize the information for local Genealogy and History Research, as well as providing computer research facilities.

The Charleroi Historic District is officially on the National Register of Historic Places held in DC. This listing is kept for reference regarding those significant historic places that exist in America and is affiliated with the National Park Svc. and Department of the Interior.

Monessen Heritage Museum is a new museum in Westmoreland County. It opened its doors in October of 2004. It is owned and operated by the Greater Monessen Historical Society, which has been in existence since 1993 and has a membership of over 200 persons. The museum is housed in a four story commercial building which was donated to the GMHS.

A working, living museum of antique farm machinery, vintage construction equipment, crafts, flea market, and great food.

The Peters Creek Historical Society preserves the heritage and historic sites of the township. The society runs the Wright House, an 1815 Georgian brick house museum. It features period furnishings, artifacts, and an authentic colonial kitchen.
