The Silver Rails Gallery and Memorial Library is dedicated entirely to railroad art and literature. We explore all types of mediums in our exhibit room including watercolor, wood carving, colored pencil, photography and oils. That is only the beginning. This is a living museum so that when you come to visit it for a second time there will be something new for you too see. The library is stocked full of railroad books and magazines for your reference ands study. The Curator of the Silver Rails Gallery is Bob Cox and the gallery is funded by donations and sales of prints and gifts from our gift shop and online store.

History Museum on the Square is a private, not-for-profit organization that began in 1975 as a Bicentennial project. The space for the History Museum office was in historic Old City Hall and was provided by the City of Springfield, but we have now moved our offices in July 2013, near our new museum space on Springfield?s historic Park Central Square. Our new business office is located in the beautiful Holland Building in Suite 404 ( 4th floor.)

Jefferson Barracks Telephone Museum

Housed in a restored 1896 building, the museum features an extensive collection of telephones manufactured from the early 1900s through the 2000s, hundreds of pieces of telephone-related equipment, memorabilia from 1880s through the 2000s and military telephones from WWII through the Vietnam War. It is located in the historic Jefferson Barracks Park, a 15-minute drive south of downtown St. Louis.

Lutheran Heritage Center and Museum

The Lutheran Heritage Center and Museum complex was constructed in 2005. A state-of-the-art exhibit hall, reception area, and gift shop was integrated into the 1845 church building, commonly known as the "Old School", which served as the original museum. The Museum interprets the 1838-39 Saxon Lutheran immigration and the history of the seven original colonies in East Perry County, Missouri, the origins of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, and the regional German-American culture.
The Perry County Lutheran Historical Society serves as the administrative body of the Lutheran Heritage Center and Museum.
The Museum offers guided and self-guided tours of the main gallery and original church.

The Board of Directors and staff strive to make the Museum a community gathering place where visitors learn and take pride in Andrew County’s rural way of life —its families, farms, towns, social life, and community spirit. Over the next two years, the Museum will: develop and promote new programs and temporary exhibits to increase community awareness and attract new and returning visitors, and programs to attract and retain members; strengthen internal systems, train staff and expand the use of volunteers; and develop plans to diversify the funding base.

Bruce R. Watkins Cultural Heritage Center and State Museum

The Center is named in honor of Bruce R. Watkins, a political and social activist. Watkins was fueled by the need to recognize and preserve the varied contributions African-Americans made to the development of Kansas City. The center opened in December 1989 as the outgrowth of Watkins’ efforts. Construction of the Center was made possible through the work and contributions of the Bruce R. Watkins Fountain Inc., the Kansas City, Mo., Parks and Recreation Department, and the State of Missouri.

This time last year we were working very hard to make the Hannibal African American Life and History Project (HAALHP) a reality. Our September 10th Grand Opening was a tremendous success; we were able to shine a spotlight on the long overdue history of Hannibal's African American community. The Exhibit has been enjoyed by hundreds of visitors who commented on the historical significance of the African American community to Hannibal's past which inspire us to look for ways to make this Exhibit a permanent part of Hannibal?s cultural experience.
