Agecroft Hall, an historic 15th century Tudor manor house, was dismantled and rebuilt in 1926 on 23 acres of gardens and grounds overlooking the James River.

Built by Charles Fenton Mercer in 1807 - 09, the Aldie Mill is located in the village of Aldie at the beginning of the historic Little River Turnpike. Aldie Mill is owned by the Virginia Outdoors Foundation and survives today as Virginia's only known mill powered by twin overshot water wheels.

The museum seeks to preserve and study the tangible remains of our community's heritage for public enrichment and enjoyment. The artifacts in Alexandria Archaeology's collection span more than 10,000 years of human history and are from more than 180 sites in the area

Due to our relatively small personal collection, the Alleghany Historical Society relies heavily on the residents of the Alleghany Highlands to contribute to rotating exhibits. Donations relevant to our collection are always welcome! We also have traveling exhibts.

AAF is a journey like no other into the fascinating world of military history. View artifacts dating from 1509 to present during your tour of the finest and most extensive international tank and cavalry collection in the world. Your journey with us begins with an exhibit of civil war soldiers riding a horse drawn gatling gun and limber, with a war dog by their side. Next is the collection of Tank toys or AFV's as many call them. Over 300 toys are in this collection and some that as a little boy I bet you even played with. The get ready for some rock N roll with our Elvis in the Army exhibit. Elvis was in the 3rd Army stationed in German, but he did his tour of duty for this great nation.

The park commemorates the site where Gen. Robert E. Lee surrendered the army of Northern Virginia to Gen. Ulysses S. Grant, overall commander of Union forces. The site includes a visitor center, museum, slide presentations, and a historic village.

Abingdon Medical Museum was established by Dr Damian Sooklal in August of 2010, with the main goal of educating and informing the public about the history of medicine. By preserving medical artifacts and sharing them with the wider public, we hope to create a unique educational experience, and further enrich the cultural environment of the region.

The ABHRC (formerly the Robinson Library) the African American community's first public library, presents lectures, programs and exhibits interpreting the legacy of African Americans in Alexandria
The Augusta Military Academy Museum is located in the AMA Alumni House in Fort Defiance, Virginia. The museum sits among stately old trees and expansive lawns on the grounds of the now-closed military academy. Fort Defiance is located eight miles north of Staunton on U.S. Route 11, the historic Valley Pike.
The museum offers exhibits of uniforms and equipment, videos, literary works, artifacts and memorabilia from the 120 years of the Augusta Military Academy's operation.

American Celebration on Parade is a one-of-a-kind exhibition of parade floats and celebration art that appeals to all ages. School children can learn about simple machines as well as the history of presidential inaugurals and other national celebrations. Adults will remember seeing many of the artifacts on television.

The museum preserves, collects, and interprets the history and heritage of Amherst County. It houses a library and there is an 1885 schoolhouse on site. The Old Amherst County Jail: The Amherst County Museum first opened its doors on May 30, 1976. The museum was originally housed in the old county jail which was built in 1891-92 adjacent to the county courthouse. The old jail contained two exhibit rooms on the ground floor. Two jail cells used for storage of artifacts and two rooms on the second floor were used for office and storage/exhibit design.

Our 2024 WVAM Conference will be held at Shepherd Universit
in Shepherdstown, WV on June 6-8, 2024
WVAM conference is a program of papers, presentations, workshops, and poster sessions addressing our theme of “America at 250: West Virginia Plans for the Semiquincentennial.”
We’ll kick off the event with a virtual day on Wednesday, July 24, hosted in collaboration with the Association of Midwest Museums (AMM). Then, we’ll gather in-person at the Hilton Columbus at Easton from July 31-August 3 for sessions, networking, and museum exploration. The SCFM Annual Conference is a time where we can celebrate the impact that museums have made on the state of South Carolina. It’s a time where we can share our successes, learn from our challenges, and grow as museum professionals.
We look forward to this year's conference September 16-18, 2024 in Laurens, SC. This year's theme is Fostering Community: There is No Museum Without "Us."
